Who We Are

LaFontaine Center is the best-kept secret of Huntington, Indiana! The LaFontaine Center was built in 1925 and was originally a high-end hotel. When LaFontaine Center was a hotel it had many famous visitors such as Henry Ford, John Dillinger, Amelia Earhart, Carol Lombard, and Johnny Weissmuller.LaFontaine Center has been beautifully restored but the opulent feel of the original hotel is still intact. As you enter our building you are greeted with an opulent lobby and enchanting frog fountain.

We are a very warm and caring community where residents enjoy the social engagement. Our Grand Ballroom and Commercial Kitchen are often rented out for weddings, parties, dinners, presentations, and other special events.

We understand that the transition to a new home can be challenging, and we strive to make the process easier with our friendly staff, ongoing activities and special events, social services, and our beautiful and comfortable community.

At LaFontaine Center, our mission is to provide housing options for older adults in an environment that enhances their quality of life physically, mentally, and spiritually.

LaFontaine Center is proud to be part of Retirement Housing Foundation (RHF). RHF is one of the nation’s largest non-profit providers of housing and services for older adults, persons with disabilities, and low-income families.
